What does it look like to forgive someone? How do you walk it out? How do you heal from the hurt? These are questions I used to ask a lot. And, it wasn’t until this year that I really began to understand forgiveness – what it looks like, how to forgive, and how to heal the hurt. Through examples and stories, I share in today’s video what I’ve learned about forgiveness. Check it out! Hope you find it helpful **G.I.G.**

I had the privilege to interview a friend, by the name of Melissa, who’s living out her purpose in day to day life. She shared how she discovered her purpose and her journey of letting God lead her down the path He created for her. Melissa’s testimony will encourage you whether your purpose “seems” vibrant and active or it “seems” like nothing’s happening.

Dying To Be

I’ll never forget that summer I burned my left leg, just above the knee, with a curling iron. You see, I was trying to curl my hair into tiny ringlets, and I was using a curling iron with a barrel about 3/8 inches in diameter to achieve the look I had in mind. All was going well until the piping hot iron slipped from my hands and branded my bare leg before landing on my bedroom floor. I remember the pain, the unsightly bruise filled with puss, and the repeated application of cocoa butter to help it heal prettier. That was eons ago, and, although its faint now, my left leg still carries that scar.

I know you’re probably thinking, “Melissa, that makes no sense! Why in the world were you trying to curl your hair in tiny ringlets when your hair does that naturally?! God created it that way.” Answer: I haven’t always worn my hair in its natural state. I didn’t stop using chemicals to alter/straighten my hair until I was 27. Up until then, I had no idea what my hair’s real pattern looked like. So, in essence, I was burning my hair AND my body to acquire what I already had. I was dying to be what I already was.

Embrace Weakness

It’s an unwritten rule that you’re supposed to highlight your strengths and hide your weaknesses. Everyone does that, right? But, what if God wants us to do the opposite? What if Paul was on to something when he said, “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me” (2 Corinthians 12:9 NIV)? Bringing our weaknesses to light allows God to prove to us and others that His strength is well able to come through on our behalves. The best depiction of this is the story of Gideon and the 300. God intentionally dwindled down their army (i.e. their strength) in order for His strength could be obvious (he was flexing lol). So, it seems as though weaknesses and/or clay jars (2 Corinthians 4:7) are the best stage for God to reveal His glory to us and to the world around us. I don’t know about you, but I want to be a stage for His glory.

A face cleanser’s job is literally cleaning your skin. It should make quick work of makeup, dirt, and grease — all while being gentle. However, so many products end up stripping your face of its natural oils, making matters worse. A team at Reviews.com consulted with dermatologists and aestheticians, scoured ingredient lists, and came away with a list of top-ranked cleansers.

“Ice cream, ice cream, we all scream for ice cream!”

Warmer weather means cool treats! I’m a HUGE ice cream lover! In fact, before going down the healthy road, I was eating ice cream almost every single night – and not just one little serving, either.

Ice cream is the best tasting treat on a super hot day when you need something to cool you down, but did you know most ice creams that you find in the grocery store are super unhealthy or even dangerous?

While some brands market their ice cream as “Natural” or “Zero Calories”, you really need to turn that tub of ice cream over and examine the ingredient lists.

To help you out, I’ve done some research into which ice cream brands to avoid and which brands are better than others.
